Tapir Valley is a nature preserve located just a few kilometers from Tenorio Volcano and the town of Bijagua.
Tapir Valley is one of the best places in Costa Rica to see the Baird's Tapir, many different types of mammals, and over 417 species of birds have been reported here.
I have been fortunate to spend many weeks exploring the forest and wetlands of Tapir Valley, and it's one of my favorite birding spots in the world.
